Stubborn clogging of iPad microphone hole....

Hello - my iPad 2 has the "microphone-hole-clogging" problem. when I discovered that there is no sound input, I tried the vacuum cleaning trick. It restored the sound, but it is still faint.

I have tried to tape the vacuum hose attachment to the iPad, so no air was leaking around the attachment,, I ran the vacuum several times, up to 1 minute. While the hose attachment is still taped to the iPad, and I speak into the attachment, the volume is quite good. When used without the attachment, sound is very faint.

I thought of taking the iPad apart, but that is a scary proposal....

I am looking for any advise on this.

Thanks for any info. Paul.

Microphone clog

That's a strange one. You may want to try taking the iPad into Apple, and they might sort it out for you.

I would also suggest not mentioning the vacuum. It may be possible that it damaged the microphone and you'd end up having to pay for a replacement for 'accidental damage'
