Stuck at Factory Reset

Hi,

Im trying to format my First Gen Apple TV but keeps freezing. Been trying this since yesterday with no result.

Is there any alternative method I could use?

It happened to me once on my 3rd gen, when it froze during software update.

I found a micro usb and plugged it my computer and restored it in itunes like you would a phone or ipad.

Don't know if that will work for a first gen, but hope it helps.
