Hello my iMac G5 is not booting up, it just a grey screen of death. I put the install CD in there and started it up, just like a new mac and nothing was showing up on select a destination to install it again. But then when I go to to disk ulitlies on the top, and I see my hard drive (guess there was a corrupt file). All i want to do is just take the music and pictures from that mac and put it on an external drive or another mac. I have another iMac G5 (camera on top of the screen) and a Macbook pro, tried transfering with a firewire to the iMac but nothing showed up. The imac that wont start up is older than the iMac G5 with the camera on the top.

I was thinking of trying it with the macbook pro but i need to get a another firewire 400 to 800. but i wanted to see if anybody else has any suggestion

Any thought or suggestion please help.

Thank you
