Stuck blank disk

I searched, then read and tried all the fixes for this and the damn thing is still in my brand spanking NEW Superdrive! And I am worn out from fighting it and disgusted that we don't have the little emergency hole anymore. I've been with Apple since Day One of Macs and have one of the signed Macs but this is making me think about other brands tonight.

Sorry about this being a rant -- just tired and disgusted. :-(

Thanks, I think. Makes me wonder, tho, why we are so willing to pay top dollar for a computer brand that increasingly seems to be no better than those costing half as much. I'm a little old - 82 - to be learning how to use a cheaper brand of laptop but sure am thinking about it. May buy one anyway so I don't have to be without a computer for who knows how long. Thanks again.

Every manufacturer will have 'dud' machines. For every person who reports a problem, many more do not have any.
