Hi everyone,
I have a MacBook with Tiger on it… 4.11.something… I just bought Leopard and was trying to install it. I didn’t have enough free hard drive space, so I quit the installer and rebooted back in Tiger. It just had a plain blue screen for a long time, and never booted up, so I turned it off and then on again. This time it opened in Darwin mode, but with a bunch of errors about something being wrong with the USB 1 in the hub or something. I have nothing connected to my computer. I rebooted again, and this time it loaded in Darwin and asked me to log in, which I did. I had no idea what to do from there, so I went online and looked up how to get from Darwin to the GUI. I tried entering the exit command, and also logging out and logging back in. Nothing gets it out of Darwin mode though. I then tried booting it up in Safe Mode, but since it went to the same Darwin thing again, I don’t know if it’s in Safe Mode or not. I don’t know any commands or how to do anything, so I don’t know how to reboot it without turning it off and on. Basically, I’m totally clueless. Does anyone have any ideas? Can I try installing Leopard from Darwin mode? Can I plug in an external hard drive and somehow get my files off if I have to wipe out my computer? Thank you so much for any help!
