Hi Folks,
Just ran the latest update, now I keep getting the Apple registration screen. When I fill in the data, the login screen is displayed, when I try to log in, I'm back to the registration screen again.

Any ideas apart from an Archive and Install?

Steve.

Nope, when I Quit registration, it brings me to the login screen, logging in just returns to the registrations screen. Ad infinitum.
How can Apple mess up such a simple function?

Are you getting a Timemachine import option

Hello Sinecurea
Leopard was running fine for 2 weeks on my wife's imac core duo and after the last software update, she is starting with a registration screen and option to import settings from another mac, time machine, etc

When I try to import from a timemachine, I do not have enough hard drive space.

Is this similar to the problem you are facing?

Thanks

You don't need to import anything from time machine, all your data is already on that mac. You just need to go through that registration screen again. Its a pain in the ass, but you don't need to import anything from anywhere.

I had the same exact situation your having. I found no way to get around it, so I just reinstalled Leopard. It would have taken longer to find a fix than to just reinstall Leopard.

Problem Solved. Stuck registration leopard update solution

I took my iMac to the apple store and here is the solution.

1. Hold down SHIFT key and restart Mac in the Safe mode. This will take several minutes.
2. You will be presented with the login screen
3. Do NOT login
4. Click restart (no need to press shift key after this)

This should solve the issue. Once you get a normal boot, complete the software update process.

Fixed it for me...

I updated Leopard on my MacBook Pro this morning and the system then rebooted into the infinite registration loop described above. Using the fix above has got my Mac up and running again - thanks for sharing your fix!

Still lost

I followed the steps above and I am still stuck in the registration loop. Will I just have to reinstall or is there something else I can try?
