So I'm trying to install Catalina on my 5,1 and got as far as creating the patcher. It didn't work with the first USB drive I tried, so I loaded it onto an extra internally connected HD (via one of the bays) that wasn't being used. Since I don't have an EFI card I chose that as the startup disk to restart into the installer. Turns out there was an error on the Catalina installer I downloaded, so I couldn't install it from the recovery tool.

No worries, I can go and redo it to try again, but now if I go to Startup Disk in the recovery tool it only shows this catalina install as a chooseable boot. My working OSX install (mojave) isn't selectable.

Is there anything I can do here? The data on the working boot isn't super critical, but I've no idea where to go from here. If simply stick a hard drive with an install of Catalina on my MP will it panic? Is there anyway I can select my other, working boot in the start up disc menu?

Many thanks in advance
