hey all, daughter got a new ipod touch 8gb. a while back. I guess last night she started an update, but it locked up, now we seem to be in restore loop in itunes. pod screen shows a usb cord w/arrow going up to itunes symbol. We've managed to try every trick I could find on the net with no success. Also have tried the power button/home button hold. BTW, ipod also changed its name to ipod from previous name, and shows no songs, pics, etc. Any suggestions??? :(

recboot???

hi, sorry about the extra post (will remove it next), and thanx for the reply.... what, exactly do you mean by recboot. Have tried (several times) connecting to itunes, have removed and reinstalled the latest itunes version, can get up to around 250 mb. of 650 mb. reinstall, etc. If this doesn't get sorted out soon, the touch may become skeet for my shotgun. (getting fairly frustrated... )

Sorry, I should of clarified. Recboot is a program that kicks your iDevice into/out of recovery mode. Just find a good download for the program and see if it can take it out of the restore or rather recovery mode loop.

you ARE THE MAN !!!!!

As suggest before, use RecBoot to kick the iPod Touch out of the recovery loop.

Instructions on how to operate this program can be found here: http://jaxov.com/2010/05/recboot-iphone-recovery-mode/

THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU !!!!!!! also, my daughter thanks you too!!

It worked, after about 3 days of fighting, swearing, and looking, as well as a frustrating support call to Apple. . Due to your help, I never even needed to get out the skeet shooter.

YOU ARE THE MAN ! ! ! !
