A while ago I had to do a re-install because an update failed on me. After that I opted out of the beta program, but ever since I'm stuck on the same beta. I tried re-opting in the beta program, but the enabling the tool gave a persistent nondescript error. After that I tried an update by downloading Catalina via the App Store, but every time after the download is complete an unknown error occurs. Then I trie opting in the beta program via an AppleScript that somebody made. It worked in the sense that I got back into the beta program and I get the update. However, when I try to install it, the computer reboots, the logo and bar come up, but after just a minute it disappears and boots up normal with nothing installed.
What now? I really do not want a re-install because it takes days to fully complete.

FYI: it is a 2015 Retina MacBook (12")
