hi all. I've been reading posts of various people with the similar issue but I've started to see a trend. I've jailbroken about 5 phones and recently everyone except mine got stuck on the exact same apple logo of boot.

No new software was installed. The phone was working perfectly fine before it rebooted by itself. Is apple doing anything to cause this. I know this might sound stupid but a pattern gets me to think it might be true.

In my case, my phone was working perfectly and I went into the mail app to check my mail and the phone got blank and came up with the apple logo. To top it off, I don't have the ssh for my phone as It was replaced and apple stopped signing 3.1.2's. Can anyone help please.

Is there anything besides restore I can try? I tried putting the phone in DFU and starting it up but it didn't help.

Try iRecovery, hopefully that will get it to start up again.
Are you depending on an unlock to use the 3GS on non-official carrier or you just care about a JB?
Cause there is a JB for 3.1.3 firmware, just no unlock yet.

I tried irecovery. I have 3.1.2 fully setup with unlock. I travel a lot and was hoping to salvage 3.1.2 since I don't have the keys.

Thanks to pod2g, tom3q, planetbeing, geohot and posixninja.

No iPhone/iPod found.

Is there a way to save the unlock with a custom firmware or that's not an option now?

Is there a way to get the phone to get detected with irecovery?

I did the update to 3.1.3 with custom 5.11.07. Don't know how to unlock it though. blacksn0w puts the phone back in the apple logo boot.

if you have 3.1.3 with 05.11.07 you need to install this source thru cydia ............cydia.pushfix.info and in that source is blacksn0w rc2 final..install it and you will be good to go....

This is what I did and it works.
Created a custom 3.1.3 firmware and did a full restore.
So now with 3.1.3 and spirit Jb, we ahead with winterboard, mywii. etc.
Added the source for blackra1n rc2 and install went fine.
Tried the tmobile sim to test the unlock and after a minute of searching TMobile appears. Sent SMS, Received calls on it and it all works.

Hope this helps someone.
