iPod touch Stuck on Connect to iTunes Screen

I tried downgrading from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 and halfway through it failed and now my iPod is stuck on the Connect to iTunes logo. Nothing gets it out of that, iTunes doesnt recognize its connected. How do I fix this!

Hold down the sleep and home buttons until the screen turns off, then connect it to iTunes and do a restore. DO NOT allow the screen to come back on. If the screen is off, the iPhone will still be on, and in Emergency Restore mode.

I held it down and it just went back to the Apple logo then Connect to iTunes screen. iTunes still doesnt recognize it.

I'm having the same problem. Any ideas?
