Hi!

I've jailbroken iPhone 3G 4.2.1 with an iPad baseband. I wanted a new clean install because my iPhone got so slow lately and I couldn't sync with iTunes for some reason.

Here's the thing, I tried to reset my iPhone an clean everything in the settings page on my iPhone. But everything froze and I had to reboot and now I'm in hell.

I tried to install a clean 4.1 firmware and 4.2.1 from iTunes. But I get stuck on the install screen with an apple on it and a loading bar at like 60% or something.

Then I tried to install a custom firmware 4.2.1 getting my iPhone into pwned DFU mode etc.
But I get stuck once again! This time around 95%. Why can't I install a firmware on my iPhone?

Thanks for reading this, please help! I've googled for like 2 days and found nothing.

You can only restore it to custom JB firmware. You cannot restore it to factory firmware any more.
You have to use redsnow or pwnage tool to put your iphone in "pwned" DFU mode.
Regural DFU mode wont let you restore to the custom firmware.

Yes, I know.

I used redsn0w and choosed a apple regular 4.2.1 firmware.
Then I checked the "just enter pwned DFU mode right now".
After that I opened itunes and choose the custom firmware.
No errors in iTunes except it just hangs after 10 min.

hahaha! It worked! Thanks mate!!

So wierd! Why did it work when I tried on another computer?
Anyways! Thanks!! =D
