Student Discount

Hello. I hope you don't mind me asking another question. I also hope this is the forum for iMac questions.
I noticed that apple canada offers a student discount on the apple web site. My daughter is in college and I am assuming I can use her and her student # to get the discount. My question is can I also get the discount from other Apple resellers or do I have to get it on line? We have a Apple Store Downtown Vancouver, will they offer the student discount in store? Thank you.

You have to do it with Apple's Online Store or at a physical Apple Store. Online they won't check credentials, in person they will.

If its anything like the uk, you have to send in a scan image of the student i.d. card in question.

Online you do? Not here. Here they just do random checks, and if you don't qualify, they e-mail you asking if you'd still like to purchase at the real price.

We get away with a lot, and I hate that people take advantage of it.

I think online they might ask you for info.

However, best way is to go to your daughter's custom Apple Store website if they have one, and if not just pick her school info. Make sure you have the info handy if needed.

Most student buyers have their parents buy the stuff for them anyways, so I don't see why you can't.

Possibly the same here for standard school i.e. middle-high school, HE certainly needs i.d.

Hmm. Interesting. High school students (secondary school) can't even get the discount in the U.S. College kids don't need to present ID if they're ordering online, and they're only ever checked at random.

thanks

Thank you for your help. I don't really like to buy or order things on line. Although I know many who do and have had no problems. I will go down to the Apple store in Vancouver and buy it there. I guess my daughter is coming along as she is the one with the College ID. The college costs me enough money , its nice to think I will get something back from Apple for it. Oh ya, I guess a educated daughter is something too. But the iMac is better...
