Basically these students had one installed and had a contest with girls on it. I take my hat off to these guys, because I had the same idea for myself. This will be the first addition I make to the frat house I get into, I'll even pay for it myself. I just feel a stripper is such a nice addition to any room, especially in college, too bad they got in trouble.

lol, interesting.... :D Well it's not like they did anything that bad. I mean you can go to a strip club and see even more.

Well, they were pretty stupid.
You don't do stuff like that in university housing, and you don't advertise big parties happening in your on campus housing (which is why frats have bigger/better parties, because they arent on the university).

Most frats are on campus, just not owned by the campus, so you can what you want. But they university can kick you off campus and then your screwed.

Gotta love the "It degrades women" line...

... it takes a woman to dance on there to be degraded. Its not like anybody forced them to do it. That advisor woman should just sod off. And no, they didn't want g/fs they just wanted to see some hot chicks shake it and have a good time. I hope she says it degrades men next time she goes and watches the chippendales shake it.
Cheers,

Ahmed

College age students seem to do stupid things. At least this idea wasn't a life threatening one. From what I have heard about dancing today the pole dancing probably wasn't any worse than at many dance. In the is girls were just on the pole and not with a guy.

and taking pictures as fully clothed women performed on it at a party.

I think that tells it all right there...This punishment was ridiculous.

The punishment seems to fit what they did just fine.
They made an unauthorized modification to an on-campus apartment, and possibly violated the school's alcohol policy. That's the kind of stuff you don't **** around with.

Being 'forced' to perform an activity is not the only way a person can be degraded. Offering pecuniary gains for actions that person would not otherwise ordinarily do is degrading.

Sorry.

thats wicked! i often joke to friends that my flat has poles that drop down through the ceiling but those guys actually got a pole installed! but its rented uni accomodation so thats not really too smart. i bet they were VERY VERY popular around campus!! legends!

There was no promise of financial gains, its was a contest, so is that degrading? I figure most of the girls would have done it anyway.

Nothing beat the parties we held at 'Schlag when I was a freshman. People left frat parties to party with us.

This quote sums it up for me:

The party ended shortly after the beer ran out.

Its obviously not about the dancing....although it makes sense the university put a stop to it. Eventually something stupid would have happened. As it is, they all get a bit of fame and notoriety at campus - not a bad thing.

D :D

The men have taken down the pole and converted the stage to a pingpong table.

Next they'll be putting up signs all over campus: HOT PING PONG PLAYERS NEEDED, promising a $100 gift certificate at Old Navy.

The most ridiculous thing is that it's getting national attention, when it's clearly a local-level news item.

fast pussycat kill killl kill

If it was my son I would just laugh on thge phone when they called me.
"he had a stripper's pole in his dorm room" I would ask "did he have men or women on the pole?" then LMAO and tell all my friends.
