Students Starting a Business?

So My girlfriend and I are both students and we're planning on starting a small business in the UK.

We're short on cash (aren't we all) but still want to get the best equipment we can to work with what we're curious about is if we can buy equipment from apple using our unidays student discount are we able to use it for our business purposes? We won't be reselling it and will likely use the items for our studies as well.

I'm also interested to know if as a business cost we can reclaim VAT on the discounted price as well as the business is VAT registered and our purchase will most definitely exceed £2000? (might not be the right place to get an answer on this part... but I thought i'd try)

Yeah anyone can buy on their student account for any reason, you'll be able to claim the tax back when you do your tax returns at the end of the financial year.
