Hi all,

I recently damaged my Thunderbolt cable that came with my Studio Display, and I can not seem to find it on Apple's US store to buy...

I don't want to buy the Thunderbolt 4 cable since the Studio Display has a Thunderbolt 3 port...

Am I overlooking something or is there not a way to replace that cable?

Juat checked, they do not sell the 1M, but they do sell a 1.8M and 3M. I would get a longer cable since the 1M is just ridiculously short. There are plenty of affordable 2M cables out there, but not braided though.

Yeah, it's very odd that they don't sell the 1m TB4 cable separately.
You may be able to call AppleCare and get a replacement as a service part, however, since yours is damaged. Might be worth a shot -- and potentially cheaper than $129 for a 1.8m cable at retail.

I broke down and bought 1.8m cables from Apple. I needed longer ones for two VESA Studio Displays (running the cable through the VESA arms uses a lot of extra slack). I was going to buy some 2m third-party TB4 cables at half the price but decided on the Apple cables as they're active (chips in the connectors) versus less expensive passive cables from the third parties. Since I'm forcing two DSC 5K video streams through a single TB4 port on my MacBook Pro to TB4 dock, I decided to avoid any potential areas of signal loss. And this way I can use one of Apple's 1m cables that came with the ASD to connect the MacBook to the Thunderbolt dock instead of the passive cable the dock came with.

That's a really good idea to go ahead and get the 1.8m one, since I have my Studio Display on a VESA arm as well, and I wasn't able to cable manage it because of how short it is. So ridiculous that they are so expensive, though!

Passive cables aren't too expensive. Maybe $60-$70 for 2m.

Apple's cables (and other active cables) have chips at both connectors to re-amplify and re-clock signal before passing it along. Likely not really necessary with a short 1m cable, but definitely of benefit on longer runs like 3m.

Apple's 1.8m cable is $129. The 3m cable is only $159, so the expense is in the connectors and not so much the cable itself.

I do wish the VESA Studio Displays came with a longer cable in the box. 1m is too short to cable-manage like you said.
