Studio Display - changing stand/Vesa mount?

I ordered a Studio display with Vesa mount right after launch and should have ordered x2 instead of one.
With the super long lead times now, if i managed to pick up another from ebay etc to avoid the wait times but it comes with the stand, can the stand be swapped to a Vesa mount by me (and not Apple)?

Unfortunately not.
Only Apple can change out the stand.

If only these were available now... checked today and shipping times for the vesa displays are in to August.

Does anybody know if/when this service will be available from Apple?

Probably will take longer than ordering a new one with the vesa mount. Orders still haven't been fulfilled.
