A $20 monitor stand with 4" clearance underneath would be more than enough to avoid putting the monitor right on top... or wait for the Mac Studio specific stands in the coming weeks. Wouldn't be shocked to see a TwelveSouth Backpack to shove the Studio on the back of the display.

For a year, I did place the much heavier 27" ATD on top of the M1 Mini when I had that setup - perfect way to get 2" of height.

The construction of the casing appears to be milled aluminum ? If so, milled and heat treated aluminum is very strong compared to cast aluminum.

As for the Studio display on top of the Mac Studio - yes the lighter weight will be supported by the Mac Studio but as others have said, if the desk moves, the display may fall off.

I'd use double sided tape on the bottom of the display to mate with the top of the Studio.

The bottom of the Mac studio is not solid though, it has the circular mesh intake, it is not designed to take undue weight on it.

My pair of 32" displays are VESA mounted on Ergotron LXs and the Mac Studio will be put on a Satechi Stand so I can put my Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Dock and SSDs under and also works as cable management accessory :)

Just contacted TwelveSouth:

Any plans for an Apple Studio Display stand with room for Apple Studio below?

Hi, Robert.
I'm afraid I’m not able to comment extensively on future products, but I CAN tell you that a stand for the Apple Studio Display with room below for an Apple Studio is not imminent. However, I can't say categorically that this will never happen. We've discussed this idea, so you never know.

I’ve forwarded your email to our product designer. Maybe enough email ‘votes’ will nudge him in that direction.

Thanks so much for taking the time to email us. We really appreciate your interest and support.

Regards,
Bridget

Based on their previous products, I think a backpack shelf behind the screen would be more likely. Just not sure if they can figure out a strong enough solution that would satisfy enough people at the right price. The monitor stand/riser is pretty straight forward and they'd likely be focused on materials/finishes more than function.

Once you have the Studio, put the display "to the side" for now.
Do some measuring.

Get 3 pieces of quality pine at the local Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, etc.
If you don't have the ability to cut them at home, they will cut them to your specs in the store.

Assemble the pieces into a "stand" yourself.
Then, use some wood stain to give it some color.

I did this years ago with the original PowerMac 6100, and put a monitor (they were big and heavy in those days with Trinitron tubes) on top of that. I still have that stand (6100 is long gone).
