Currently using a 34" Ultrawide (3440x1440p) and am looking to upgrade to something a little sharper for office use. Obviously, the Studio Display has the highest resolution but am concerned about losing the ultrawide for productivity as I find the UW lets me keep 3 windows up at a time. Has anyone made a similar change and if so what was your experience? Thanks.

It‘s quite simple IMO: if you want/need 3 sharp-ish windows side by side (on one display), the 34“ LG 5K2K is still the only game in town. If you can manage with just 2 extra-sharp windows side by side, the Studio Display is where it‘s at.

(I personally can‘t, so I‘m “stuck“ with the LG.)

Are you overall happy with the LG?

I was happier with it before I got a MacBook Pro with miniLED … 😂

Side by side the display quality is different enough that it sometimes bothers me, but overall it is really quite good. And it is still the sharpest (DPI) ultrawide display on the market and I really don‘t want to go back to „normal“ width displays.
