I am new to this forum and display (which is fantastic). It's connect it - the 27in one - to MBA M2. The native resolution renders beautifully but for my eyes the system fonts a tiny bit small. When I scale to 2048 x 1152 they are much lager than needed (1.25x scaling factor). I think that I ideally would like to be around 2304 x 1296 but I am loath to use third party apps like SwitchResX (SRX)

Could you please advise if there is a downside to using SRX and I should just get used to the font size and get better glasses :) or tweak the resolution?

Thank you in advance -JR

2560x1440 on the Studio Display gives you both the best image quality and best speed performance as it’s exactly 1/2 the display’s native resolution. Aside from that, using another scaled resolution, even with SwitchRes, won’t hurt anything other than losing a slight bit of font smoothness (which you may not see anyway if you don’t have the eyes of an 18 year old) and an almost imperceptible performance hit due to the extra GPU math involved (noticeable on Intel Macs; practically nonexistent on Apple Silicon Macs).
