Anyone have a recommendation for title? I’m caught between the VESA mount and the tilt/height model. It feels like it I’m gonna spend over $100 for a mount I might as well just pay the upcharge from apple. Most arms I find on Amazon that say they support 14+ pounds have several reviews saying that the arm only supports about half of its rated weight.

Prefer to hear from someone who personally owns the arm, and no drilling required. Thanks!

Free standing. Will be a long time before I live anywhere I can drill in.

Pretty much every outstanding product I've purchased from Amazon has some negative reviews from people who say it's trash or doesn't work when it actually does (and of course there's the special people who rate a product 1 star but are reviewing the seller/delivery service instead of the product). They're normally not telling you all the details or telling them accurately. If I put stock in them, I'd never buy anything. A 4.5 star rating over 3000 reviews on the stand above indicates to me that it works as advertised.

Up your budget by $89 and go with an Ergotron LX and call it a day. I got my Ergotron LX 11 years ago and still it performs like day one.

Thanks. I'm inexperienced enough here where I was wondering if the listed maximum weight was like battery life or luminance ratings, as in maybe they're always to some degree exaggerated. Glad to know this isn't the case.

Very tempting. I'll consider this one especially considering your personal experience with the longevity.

Well, even if it were, at a 77-lb. rating, it could be exaggerated 5x and still be enough to support the Studio Display ?

I’m using this mount. It works surprisingly well for the price.

I have the Amazon basics monitor mount (clamps onto desk). I've heard Amazon basically copied Ergotron's mount, so this one is a fantastic one for under $100. I currently have two of them and they seem to work well

Count me as another vote for the Amazonbasics mount. I am using one with my studio display right now, and it is fantastic. I got a cheap, $30 random brand for my office at work, and the quality difference is night and day.

This Amazon one literally has "Patents Ergotron" on the back, so I believe that is a rebranded Ergotron model.

I bet a bunch of those reviews complaining about the arm not holding the rated weight are people who didn't read the instructions. There's a screw you use to adjust the lifting force and, at least on the Ergotron and its knock-offs, you aren't gonna find it without the instructions.
