I understand Center Stage on iPhone, even iPads. Maybe having some fun in Face Time.
Now with the lockdown, many of us gained lots of experience with meetings. But never seen more than each person head on the screen. More even some are using fake backgrounds to decently hide some environment parts....

Maybe at Apple they do meetings in groups, walking across the room?

Anyone can give a good reason for this feature, maybe I am missing something.

I found it to be really useful, if not essential in my setup. I use the display in almost full tilt, so when I first turned on the camera I was shocked to see only the upper half of my face. Turned on Center Stage and voilà: I‘m perfectly centered. ?

I think it’s more useful on a Mac, not less, because you can’t easily move it to reframe yourself.
