Does anyone know of any product that allow underdesk mounting the mac studio?

also, what material should it be made out of to reduce heat and so that it does not amplify the fan noise?

This should fit.

Great idea!

Anyone know of a similar product that’s available in the UK?
If you have a heat gun and a piece of acrylic that seems like something you could make fast.

I'll probably visit my local makerspace and use their laser cutter though. Need some air holes in the bottom.

The shape of the Studio is almost like a cube, can't you just find some parts in a generic tool shop or gardening supply shop and DIY?

Possibly. But I’m untalented (and lazy) in that department. Still, good idea - I’ll go have a wander and see if I can spot anything suitable. ?

Mac Studio is a new form factor. Guaranteed there will be LOTS of holding brackets available for it soon from different sources. Just be patient.

If you're going to DIY and install to a wooden desk, it would help to put spacers between desk and any parts of a metal bracket.

Each screw connection should be (from top down) desk / spacer / bracket / spacer / screwhead. Nylon washers are often more than enough and usually can get packs of 50+ for few dollars. Some more rubbery options are a few dollars more and usually used by sound studios when building custom setups.

VHB tape from 3M will not hold the bracket with Studio attached in place, but adding a strip would help with vibration dampening.

If that's too much work for anyone, just get a larger bracket and search for studio monitor (speakers) isolation pads.

Is all the noise coming from the back of the Studio or is there any noise from the intakes on the bottom? If the noise is all from the back, then shouldn't placing the Studio flush with the back of, say, the OWC mount not have any effect on the noise? This OWC mount is likely the one I would get if I ever get my hands on a Studio.

I have my 2014 Mini undermounted, and while I did like the solution, I'm not sure I would undermount a Studio or my next Mini (whichever I decide on) as it makes accessing the ports (and power button) a bit of a pain. It's clean, but meh in all actuality.

And I have 5 port USB hub on my desktop just so I can plug things in. Something to consider unless you never really actively use your ports. If most everything is always plugged in and you don't need to get to ports, that's a different case.

Depending on the devices and setup, theoretically could just leave open ended cables or use "extender" cables to the front or some desk setup for the ports you quickly want to have access to. For most people, this would be 4-6 cables at most. Really need to treat a mounted solution as a semi-permanent install.

I was looking to do something like this myself which would be the neatest solution for me by far. Alternatively, I could probably stash the Studio on a shelf or set of drawers underneath the desk if I buy a couple of longer cables for the displays.

The 1.8m Thunderbolt 4 cable from Apple is £129, not sure if there's a recommended, proven 3rd party alternative to that yet.

Has anybody got something yet? There doesn't seem to be a decent selection out there tbh.

I quite like the look of this one : Etsy link.

I ended up using this one and it worked out just fine. It also left plenty of room for my external SSD's to sit next to my studio. I have an Autonomous L shaped sit stand desk. It mounted with just a few screws. I don't hear my studio at all and airflow is unencumbered.

I purchased this mount, $39.
This is the best metal bracket solution (so far) since it doesn't block the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas located down near the inlet opening. Better still, a plastic under desk mount would let signals pass readily.

I was using the double height NewerTech acrylic mount early on but as the base is sized too small for the Studio I raised the Studio with foam to provide clearance for air flow and that made it difficult to remove the Studio for cleaning so I switched to the Sengtek. It is definitely the best mount I've seen for a Studio so far.

All NewerTech has to do with that acrylic mount is to resize the opening for the Studio, maybe a cutout for the lock, and they would have a proper compatible product.

I finished the mount install for my new M2 Ultra. I ditched the additional bracket and used only the two side brackets for a cleaner install, fixed with wood inserts, I did not trust the provided screws. There is plenty of space for additional drives or wires to pass, very happy with the end-result. I'll update my home office pictures soon.
