Hi guys,

I'm currently studying a Game Development course at college and in the first week, for the Research Techniques module, we were asked to create a questionnaire to gain information on a hypothetical video game we'd be creating.

If you guys could complete the questionnaire and give me some feedback on the questions/answers and anything you feel I missed, it'd help me greatly and I'd appreciate it greatly.

The survey can be found: here

Thanks guys/girls

John

Thanks. I should point out, you don't need to sign up at the end. It's just their way of trying to gain more users :\

Thanks again :D

I'm not kidding about this but yesterday I met a guy at university that studied Games Development for a degree and he hasn't been able to find a job in over 2 years. He is totally depressed, as there just isn't a high demand for people in this field.

It is an incredibly saturated and competitive market, but it's something I love doing, and I wont be settling for anything less in a career, so I'm more than prepared to have to fight for my position in the industry :D

Thanks to everyone who's taken the survey

People who make it in the Gaming Industry are those who can do. Many times these people are not formally educated but know what it takes to get things done. The best way to get into the industry is to start yourself; just code up games get going and move on from there. Once you get a few games under your belt, you're much more likely to land something.

True. Hands on experience and a great portfolio are incredibly important, and these are things I hope to build up over the course of my college and university education.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Appreciate it.

Can you give some more sample question and answers. How great your info is! It really useful for me. Thanks.
