I recently got a browser hijack thing from an installer
It goes to a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W3PInJPyu4&feature=youtu.be

I think it might contain viruses
I have thought of resetting Safari
Should i?
what does it do?

Macs are not immune to malware, but no true viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any since it was released over 12 years ago. The only malware in the wild that can affect Mac OS X is a handful of trojans, which can be easily avoided by practicing safe computing (see below). 3rd party antivirus apps are not necessary to keep a Mac malware-free, as long as a user practices safe computing, as described in the following link.

If you haven't already done so, try changing your DNS servers on your Mac and your router to OpenDNS servers. This will show you how: Why am I being redirected to other sites?

If you think a link might contain viruses, one of the worst things you can do is share that link on a forum.

It doesn't contain viruses i have ran a scan and its on a secure connection to youtube...
but its really annoying this browser redirect wont go away

You might try the adware removal tool on this page.

It sounds like you installed an application that had some sort of adware along with it.
