Stuffit alternative?

Can anyone recommend a simple unzipper for Snow Leopard? I repeatedly get an error message sauying Stuffit Exapnder will not work without the original Stuffit Engine. Just checked Stuffit and the new version goes for $79.

Saw mention of UnRarX, tried to download it and got the message: Stuffit expander will not work without the original Stuffit Engine.

Does Stuffit have a monoply on this market?

It can even handle .sit files, and no, StuffIt has no monopoly for compression software, it only has one with its own format, as there are many, many more compression formats out there, .zip and .rar being the most notorious ones.
