Well heres my problem...

I got stuffit expander 6.0.1 and can't run windows media 9 with it. When I try to download the tree trial of stuffix expander 8.0.2, such as from
http://www.allume.com. My Mac is a G4 10.1.5 so I assume I click the "Download StuffIt Expander 8.0.2 for Mac OS 10.0 to 10.2 (.dmg format)" right? Well when so, instead of going into my download manager it loads a bunch of encoding of some sort.

Some help is appriciated.

Will it let you right click on the link and select something like "Save to disk" or "Download linked file"?

(or, if you have a one button mouse, press the "control" key on your keyboard and then click)

Yes there are some options(I have a two click kouse) the closest to what you say is download link onto disk, copy link to clip board or open link in new window.

The other options are Internet Explorer Help and Add link to favorites.

it's been a while since i've seen 10.1, but if using Explorer then download to disk should work. Or use Safari and it should download it automatically.

I downloaded safari 1.2 but thats mac 10.3 or later, opps lol. I'm looking for one combadible with mac 10.1, hope it works.

Sometimes when the server doesn't have their (MIME, I think?) settings right, the browser won't know it's a file it's supposed to download and will try to load it as a webpage. Right-click and select "Save file to disk", or whatever it happens to be called in the browser you're using. Or you can option click the link to do the same thing.

BTW a .dmg file is a disk image and has nothing to do with Stuffit — Stuffit files are .sit.
