How can I get Magic Menu back into the menu bar? Or do I need it at all? For some reason Stuffit Deluxe is opening on the desktop. It usually doesn't open, just decompresses the file while it stays hidden. Did Iclick a button somewhere?

Double-click on the Magic Menu icon.

I like it. You will have to make your own decision.

What does that mean?

It usually doesn't open, just decompresses the file while it stays hidden.

It is probably Stuffit Expander that you are think about here. It is included with Stuffit Deluxe. Of course, every copy of MacOS X is bundled with Stuffit Expander.

Did Iclick a button somewhere?

Probably not. This happens to me. Allume (formerly Aladdin) has developed a plethora of formats with the same .sit extension. Some are associated with Stuffit Expander. Others are associated with Stuffit Deluxe. It is probably best to do a Get Info on files that open in Stuffit Deluxe to change the association to Stuffit Expander.
