Hey guys

I have an iPhone 4. I have had it since August with no problems. No drops or jailbreaking. Over the past week my phone has been going nuts.

Sometimes the apps will return to the home screen by themselves (they are still running in the background) or voice control will come on when it is my hand or in my pocket. Sometimes I will be sitting on the train with music on and it will suddenly change to voice control even though I have been sitting down for 10 minutes or so.

Today was the final straw, the home button won't work at all. I have to switch off the phone to get it to work again. Even now, I just closed SMS to open facebook and after facebook loaded it when to voice control.

It has been driving me crazy. After having 6 3G iPhones in 1 year and 6 months. I was happy. Also with the time bug ****ing my new years and now this I am loosing respect for the iPhone and thinking about going back to my old B&O phone that is dumb but works flawlessly.

Any ideas before I go to the genius bar?

Something similar happened to me for the last week with my iPad.
I called Apple last night, and to my surprise, they told me to do this:

Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings

This will not delete your data, just reset iPad settings to default configuration (themes, language, keyboards, Wallpaper, etc.). It doesn't alter your mail or calendar configuration. Just to be safe, do a backup first.

Since I did this, my Home button has been as responsive as new! :D

Yeah, I have booked an appointment for Thursday. It is sitting next to me going to iPod controls today.

Thanks guys!
