How much do you want to bet that her family sues since the subway system doesn't have a stop button like escalators and gas stations? (Forgive me if this gives some "shark" a means of litigation.)

I miss living in Texas. It was back in the 90's an assumed risk state. I loved the swimming pools that were open year round. the sign stated that there was no lifeguard on duty and that swimming was at your own risk. Evidently the courts at the time upheld that. What a novel concept, being held for your own actions.

It is sad people have lost their common sense these days... and they don't want to take any responsibility for anything.

This is just like those obese teenagers in NYC who sued McDonalds because they "didn't know" that the food was unhealthy and was loaded with sugar, salt, and fat.
 
She must have had blinders on. Just made a quick reaction without thinking. Sadly in this case she paid the ultimate price, death for her mistake. People do do stupid things on impulse.
