Stupid question about the DAC on an iPod 5.5...

To follow up with my previous post, I have taken to refurbishing some of my old iPods. Most all the faceplate and battery swaps have gone off with out a hitch, but I did happen to tear a hold switch ribbon when replacing a battery on my 5.5 video iPod.

I have a replacement cable coming that is the hold switch and the audio jack. I THINK it is OEM, but i am not too sure.

My big concern is where is the Wolfson DAC located? I'm pretty darn sure it is on the logic board and that the new cable i am receiving is just the relay to the audio out...but I guess I need a little piece of mind.

Thanks!

The chip is on the board.
The iPod classics use the same audio jack/hold switch, but do not have the wolfson chip.
