Ok I get the picture thanks (but would it not run under rosetta?
No. Rosetta is for running PPC apps on an Intel chip. There's no way to run a PPC OS on an Intel chip.

The closest you could get is to install Darwin 7.0 on Intel, which has always been available, but then you don't get any of the Mac's UI, only the UNIX core.

I know this is a very stupid question but is it possible to install OS 10.3 on an intel mac? I would do so for more stability.

Thanks
As a general proposition, you cannot natively run an OS which is older than your Mac. This is true of all Macs going back to 1984.

Whooops :p I was just searchin through google n it linked to this thread lol it was about 5 years ago I had 10.2 on ibook lol

That has nothing to do with this thread, which was about running 10.3 (not 10.2) on an Intel Mac (not a PowerPC Mac.)

LOL You want to run 10.3 on intel for MORE stability? There's no way in hell that would make your system more stable, haxies only make things buggy. If you ever found a hack to get that running I bet the OS's clock wouldn't even work.

Note the age of the thread.
