...do Apple/AT&T store stocks on launch day have any connection with pre-orders? I know AT&T was taking in-store pre-orders for pickup this Friday, but does the Apple store do this as well or is it pretty much first come first serve? Also, are AT&T likely to get a higher shipment than the pre-orders? How does it work?

Apple Store stock is first come first serve, they didn't do reservations this time. I can't speak for ATT policies.
