Stupid question within

Since the 4S is essentially the same phone as the 4 on the outside, a case for the 4 should fit, correct? Just want to be sure before I order one. Thanks to anyone who takes to time to answer this almost certainly stupid question.

A Verizon iPhone 4 case should fit it. Some cases can fit both iPhone 4 models, but some can only fit one model.

Not quite, the 4S and the GSM 4 have different volume/silent button places. But the CDMA 4 and 4S are the same.

Nope. The Verizon iPhone 4 and GSM iPhone 4 have different mute and volume button placements. It's just enough so that if it's a precise fit for the GSM model, it won't fit the CDMA model, and hence the 4S.
