Stupid Sys Admins at Work!

Got an company-wide email from the sys admins that no devices that don't support Active Synch are to be connected to the company network - explicitly listing iPhones and CrackBerrys (they ditched Rimm because of the cost some time ago - much to the whining of the addicts).

Of course I had to point out to then that their draconian edict would soon NOT include the iPhone... They really should try and keep up with current technology.

Ironically, it is an IT services and support company. Just as well customers don't get a look at our IT infrastructure before signing the contracts for us to manage theirs...

Fun and games once at a customer site. The company-provided notebook (a Dell) packed in. But I was able to dazzle em by pulling out my MacBook and firing up Parallels to finish the job. Tempting to get a MBA - as it would cut down on the weight and bulk of hauling two notebooks about.
