I recently found out with VLC 0.9.9 and 1.0.0 video playback is stuttering. The strange thing is that the CPU is not full, neither there is any intensive disk read (istat).

Anyone had similar issue? My weaker configuration MBP Unibody 2.53Ghz, doesn't have this issue.

I'm having a similar issue - 2006 24" imac 3GB / 1TB 2.16

If I have Safari 4 open - it'll randomly stutter - and it's agitating, to say the least. Drive activity is minimal, no other apps running.

I'm not sure if it started with Safari 4 - or with VLC 1.0 - as I got both around the same time.

When I launch Firefox - no issues with video playback, only with Safari. I favor Safari 4 - because the new launch window grew on me - but I'm on Firefox now because of this issue.
