in new to the world of macs and i wanted to know if having a sub account for everyday stuff, is useful/ recommended.

I personally have 2 accounts, one is the Ghost account and one is my everyday account. The Ghost account is never used unless there is a problem with the main account and it is used to see if the problem is system wide or just in my main account. Other than that I just use my one main account for everything.

I have an admin account and a standard account. I almost never log into the admin account. Using an account with admin privileges for everyday use is asking for trouble.

Since I do a lot of stuff with my Admin account, I don't have a standard account. I'm always installing something that requires Admin privileges, so it depends, are you going to do a lot of Admin things? Is someone else going to be using your computer? Do you really need the Admin abilities with what you're going to do?
