Does anyone know of an alternative to the program Subler? I've been having a lot of reliability issues with it lately and would like to explore other options for adding metadata and muxing media together.

mkvtoolnix for muxing. iDentify for metadata.

Curious as to the version of Subler you are using because ever since v0.17 it has been rock solid for me. And I mean rock solid...not one lockup.

I also really recommend the current beta of MP4tools - it's excellent for MKV -> MP4 remuxing & track extraction / deletion / conversion / addition. (NOT the non-beta, 3.x version: it's almost useless: slow, continuously crashes etc.)

Some also praise iFlicks; however, I've found it useless for videos that have more than 2-3 subtitle tracks.

Forgot about that one. :) Yep, it is good too as long as you the beta version. Still prefer Subler, though.

Yup, Subler is indeed preferable as it's about 50% faster than the current beta. However, the latter is more compatible with some MKV's out there.

I've been using Subler 0.18 but its really been nothing but lock ups and other issues.

I'll give iDentify a try.

I'm currently using the newest beta of MP4Tools as well and its been great so far.

I had heard.....

very nice things about Yamb. But cant recommend it personally:( :):apple: Also I dont know if exist currently a Mac version

Alternitive

I know this is a old post but i'd figure i give a good alternative. It takes about 2 hours on my macbook pro 2008. and and hour less than hand break. and even adds tags and converts the 5.1 sound.

iVI is the name of the app. can be found in the app store.

or here at the developers website.

mp4tools works for me. have had a lot of problems with the audio conversions in subler. The only negative if you compare it to subler is that cant add metadata and can't convert pgs or sup subtitles into soft subtitles(only hardcode)
