Substitute for Goldwave

As a switcher I'm surprised that I haven't found a good substitute for the Windows-only Goldwave. It's a simple stereo audio editor with cue points.

Any suggestions?

I know.. goldwave is awesome. I've been using audacity and so far so good.

Audacity is a satisfactory editing software for music, but where is there a good substitute for GoldWave's recording capabilities?
