say i downloaded "The Last Samurai" as an .mkv (no subs included) and want the subtitles but only for the japanese sequences.

i'd be using QT7 pro for converting the .mkv to .mp4.

suggestions ?

yes. i could also use Submerge on the existing .mp4 but i don't want to subtitle the complete movie - just the japanese sequences.

ideas ?

But often OpenSubtitles offers subtitles for occasions like yours, at least in my experience, but you might have to look for them as it seems (I just searched LS in German and only two subtitles where there, for English there are a bit more).

okay, thanks. i think i found something and will experiment.

maybe buy a legal copy.

i'll take that under advisement ;)

i prefer to watch content on my TV and don't own a BR player and i can't be bothered with discs.

found a japanese only sub btw and QT7 is currently encoding the .mkv, also found an indian only sub for my Dances With Wolves ...

edit:

i'm all legal otherwise. buy all my software, usually even the family pack rather than a single seat license etc. i also purchase from the iTS or e.g. allflac.com etc.
