hey guys,
i am well aware that subwoofers contain somewhat large magnets, and you shouldnt put any kind of data storing electronic device near them. this may be a silly question, but as i am moving back home in a few weeks i want to "streamline" my setup and make my desk a lot cleaner.
i want to put my belkin 7 port USB hub on the top of my subwoofer (a creative itrigue 3400 sub), and maybe my external hard drive. now, i am 90% certain that magnets shouldnt affect the USB connections, but my main concern is the data storage devices i would connect to it, eg. data pens, ipod, and external drive. all items would be in close proximity to the sub when connected.
i am not sure if my sub is magnetically shielded (or even if that makes a difference). [update: cant find any info
] the manufacturer should tell me and i will post the results of further research as an edit to this post. w wuold like to know your reccomendations / experiences with this issue.
Thanks
S
