Success! First time installing Win8 on old iMac, no Boot Camp

So I just purchased Windows 8, installed it on my Rev D Intel iMac. Working great - Windows doesn't even notice that it's running on Mac hardware.

In order to install it I had to jump through a few hoops - biggest challenges were dealing with Win 8 not liking the EFI partition and getting the drivers installed. Once that was dealt with, it's perfect... except for Windows 8 being, you know, Windows 8

congratulation, i am still using windows 7 on bootcamp btw,

It's actually cheaper than Windows 7, at least for my use case. Even when you take the editions out of the equation by comparing Win 8 (normal) to Win 7 Home Premium (or Win 8 Pro to Win 7 Ultimate) you STILL save money.
