I have access to my iMac in NY from Japan via port forwarding set up on my AirPort Extreme in NY. Ports are forwarded to acess a hard disk attached to the router, and the iMac, which is attached to the router via wifi. I can access the hard disk attached to the router, but the link to the iMac suddenly went dead.
I have the router assigning the IP of 10.0.1.2 to the iMac. All the port forwarding settings are correct; wake for network access is enabled on the iMac. I thought perhaps the iMac accidentally joined a neighbor's wifi network, but when I remotely access the AirPort Extreme, my iMac's MAC address is listed as an active client.
I can't access the iMac at all now. Prior to last week, screen sharing and file sharing worked just fine. I can access the router, so I know the Internet IP hasn't changed. What could possibly be wrong?
I even tried connecting from several networks in Japan, so it doesn't seem to be a problem on my side of the Internet.
