Occasionally I get a white noise burst out of iTunes using an M-Audio M-Track audio interface. All I need to do is pause iTunes then hit play and it goes away for some arbitrary amount of time. Haven't used Garageband enough to know if it's going to happen but I suspect it will. There is a thread on Avid about it. Mostly complaints and no real solutions. Most people suspect a clock issue and core audio.

It's annoying enough while listening to music. Will be horrid if it happens while recording/playback on Garageband. Anybody have experience with this issue?
[doublepost=1487177090][/doublepost]After further consideration I've decided the simplest path will be to use the Mac's internal sound for playback. This will change the way I monitor, but considering I'm not doing anything mission critical I should be fine.
