iPhone 16 pro on T-Mobile, two bars of 5G and speeds of about 50Mb…..

Suddenly, as of yesterday, I can send iMessages to my wife, but she cannot send to me. She has an iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18 and I am using an iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 26. When she tries to send to me, it says message not delivered. Strangely, I can send iMessages to her and she receives them.

I don’t know if it is coincidence or not but I updated to the latest beta yesterday. ???

I have checked all settings and everything looks OK. I am currently camping in Virginia, but T-Mobile here has a good signal and I’m on 5G. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

Maybe a friendly "reminder" from Apple to also update the phone of your wife? ;)

Joke aside, use another messenger (I prefer Signal) or try RCS to avoid "difficulties" like that.

I think today if it is still not working I'll have her experimentally turn off iMessage and see if it falls back successfully to either SMS or RCS. I also need to see if her phone is displaying me as iMessage capable.

The only other thing I can think of is that I am currently camping in VA and Tmobile has very good coverage here. I have two bars of 5G and speeds in the 9-25 Mb range, pings are in the 40-50mS range but there are occasional spikes in latency and those speeds are half what they were two days ago.... I wonder if that is confusing things on the sending end?
