Suddenly can't insert cd on IMac G5

Hi,
I was burning some discs and all of a sudden Toast says there is no recorder and after restarting, same thing. I also put in a blank or recorded cd all the way and the computer won't accept it. I can't find anything on this in the manual or Mac help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try this. Shut down your mac and unplug any external devices. Then unlpug the mac for about 10 seconds. Plug everything back up and restart. Worth a try.

I had a similar problem. I could not insert a CD or DVD into the drive of a PowerPC G4 Mac. The solution posted above worked fine. Thank you!
