I've got my keyboard, mouse, iPhone and other stuff connected to my late '08 Mac Pro via a powered USB hub (partly due to cable length, partly due to needing the Mac's own USB ports for other stuff) and I've never had a problem; when the Mac has gone to sleep, the USB has stayed live so my iPhone gets charged and I can wake the Mac by pressing a key on the keyboard.
However, as of yesterday, when the Mac sleeps, it no longer seems to provide any power to the USB ports, and when my powered hub senses that the host is not providing any power, it also shuts down. Meaning I can't bring the Mac out of sleep with the keyboard and my iPhone doesn't get charged.
So basically it's like Bagpuss. When Bagpuss goes to sleep, all his friends go to sleep.
Am I alone in this problem, or can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
