I have been successfully working with NTFS hardrives for sometime using NTFS-3G and had no issues when running on either my MacBook Pro or my iMac up until now. I had recently started to use a 1Tb Samsung pocket hardrive formatted in NTFS. Initially there was no dramas but it has suddenly become read only one more than one occasion. The first time I gave up and simply copied everything off and reformatted it but it has happened again since.
I am lead to believe it is some how caused when the hardrive is suddenly disconnected without being properly ejected. Around those two times as well I had connected the hardrive to a iMac which didn't run NTFS-3G the first time and a Acer laptop earlier today.
Often the files I had open or had recently changed disappear entirely.
Is there any way to fix this issue or get back some of the files I just lost?
