sudoers file

I have been tracking about the sudoers file, is that it works for have administrator permission to execute commands in the CLI.

The thing is when i add my username to the sudoers file, both

/private/etc/sudoers
/etc/sudoers

like:

username ALL = (ALL) ALL

Nothing happend... any ideas why?

I already try rebooting ...

You need to run visudo as root to edit the sudoers file. Do not edit directly.
