I am somewhat new to macs, I got a MB for my GF last year, and recently purchased a 2.53/4gb mini. Love it. It is silent, my monitors are louder. I use it for development, and as a media center (streaming movies radio...). It replaces a 1yo $2k+ dell laptop, and is nearly as fast, and much quieter.
On to my questions. I really like time machine (upgraded my time capsule to a 2TB caviar green) so far. It looks great for being able to undo changes when developing code. I have to use widows (via fusion2.x for now) to run Altera Quartus sw. I would like to be able to use the time machine to recover changes if needed. Convieniently. Is MacFuse the answer? Keeping the files on the OSX file system is too costly in terms of compile time (12minutes on OSX vs 4min on VM XPsp3 native).
I am soliciting for a way to keep as much performance as possible, and to still have some convenience.
